Fall Quarter Practice

Cow Ultimate practices every Monday and Wednesday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM throughout the quarter.  If possible, schedule classes with a break from 3:00-5:00 PM so you can make it to practice. Captains Highlights: Irvine Huckfest

Just some things I saw from the tourney, and some awards to be handed out. Rookie of the tournament: Steve Jollota. Of course Steve’s 3 d’s in one point was epic, but all weekend played like anything but a rookie. Steve always had the legs to keep going, and make great cuts and sick d’s all tourney. Most improvement: Noah Tomaszewski. Noah showed a lot this weekend, and everyone can definitely see all the improvement he has made since last year. Noah made great deep cuts on the wing, and when he was asked to handle played very well and very smart, committing almost no turns when he was asked to handle. 2011-2012 Season Outlook

The Men’s team is looking to make a statement this year in Southern California Ultimate and is hoping to make an appearance in this year’s Southwest Regionals.  Under captain Stephane Carlisle the team will see more practice time focused on building team skills and more outside of practice workshops to help players meet their goals as players this season. Two tournaments are planned this fall for the Cows and they are rapidly approaching.  The Cows are planning on attending Irvine Huckfest, something they haven’t done for two years and are very excited to participate in a lot more local tournaments.  The Cows also working for a bid to this years SoCal warmup as this tournament will help the team gauge its skills in the section. Lucky Charms 3-1 in first tourney!

Cal Poly Pomona’s women’s frisbee team, better known as the Lucky Charms, kicked off their second season with a 3-1 record at the UCLA One-day tournament. The team brought 14 girls to the UCLA intramural fields Sunday, despite the overnight rain and muddy field conditions. Photographer: Steve Lowe The day opened with a game against the 25-member USC-B women’s team, the Hellions. After exchanging points and hucks to the back of the endzone, the Lucky Charms took half 7-5. The game ended with a Lucky Charms victory; 13-8. Fall Quarter Pickup Information!

Hello Cal Poly Ultimate! Wow Summer really flew by!  It seems like just yesterday I was sitting on the beach and playing summer league.  Well I can honestly say I’m super excited for fall quarter.  I get to see all the new faces for this years club!!!  Fall quarter pickup is at 3pm on Fridays.  Pickup will be held on the IM fields just south of the Gym (bldg  43).  Please be sure to be on time and bring a Dark shirt and a white shirt so that we can jump right into games!  Read More →
